I heard someone claiming that some ancient religions, aztec and aborigine and such, had mass revelation stories. am i permitted to look into these to show where he is wrong, as the yetzer hora for idolatry has been taken away?

The fact that the Yetzer Horah for Avodah Zorah has been taken away is not relevant to your question, because there is still a Yetzer Horah for believing nonsense, like what this person is telling you. Neither the Aztecs nor the Aborigines have a mass revelation story. Here's what you should do: Ask this "person" exactly which religions he is talking about and what exactly is the "revelation" story. You will be able to see on your own, without having to "go into" anything at all, that is it not so. Don't let this guy send you on some wild goose chance. If you have any question about it after that, please come back and ask.

The Aztec mass revelation story isn't true. It is a common misconception. See: http://blog.dovidgot...uzari Principle
