L'Chvod Rabbi Shapiro, Shlita:

1) If a person was C"V disrespectful to a parent and then asked Mechila from the parent,
is the sin erased from his "spiritual record" ?

2) If a person was C"V disrespectful to a parent, and the parent was Niftar,
can the person still do Teshuva for the sin and erase the sin from his "spiritual record" ?

Can the person ask Mechila at the Niftar's grave?

Thank you.

I idd this once. A woman wanted to ask mechila from her father who passed away, so her husband got a minyan from my yeshiva. we went to the grave and said tehillim while she said something, i dont know what. There may have been something else we said, i dont recall, but she never had to tell us what she was asking mechila for. I assume the text  can be found in seforim on mourning and mourners siddurim.
