I remember a few months back, I was on the site truetorahjews.org and it quoted a gemara that said that Reish Lakish didn't hold by the oaths and that he complained about not going to Eretz Yisroel or rebuilding the bet hamikdash or something like that. I dont have the source for this but I know truetorahjews quoted something like that.

I know Zionism is bad, but how can something like the gimmel shavuot come down to a machlokes? It seems like a black and white issue.

The machlokes was about that particular situation, i believe. not the oaths in general.
