L'Kovod Rabbi Shapiro shlita,
How do we explain Chazal's where a tzaadik does issur genevah?
Examples:
Hillel goes on top of the Beit ha'Midrash to listen to Torah for free, instead of paying. That seems like genevah.
Reuven going into his father's tent. Never mind he messed up the beds. According to my understanding of halachah, Reuven shouldnt have set foot in his father's bedroom.

Tzaadikim Violating Halachah?

The charge was for using the Beis Medrash, not for the shuir. I believe you aren't supposed to charge for teaching Torah anyway.
I don't know the parameters of entering one's parents room, the issur was rearranging the bed regardless if that is part of it.
I guess for these types of chazals, we simply need to understand why these things arent assur.
