It does have an individual setting for each forum. We just weren't consistent. That's corrected now. Thanks for the catch.Oddly, it seems this "Welcome Frumteens!" section allow Guest posts (which are now being correctly moderated after your settings change), but most other sections on JewsWithQuestions are not accepting Guest posts at all. It must have an individual setting for each section of the forum, with some enabled and some disabled. Is there a reason for that?

Welcome Frumteens!

It is being addressed. Please understand that our web person does not get paid for his work on this site, and he is besides a professional web person, also a full time rabbi and has another profession as well. It takes time.I'm curious if that is still being addressed. Cause the longer its not done properly, I would imagine the more it could lower the google search ratings for the original site.
We are not so concerned with Google ratings.

You're right. It looks like when we restricted access to the profiles it also disabled the Users' ability to change their names or emails. I will ask our programmer people to see if they can do something about that.In the meantime, you can make a new account, or email frumteens@yahoo.com with your old and new information, where the Admins will manually change it for you. Thanks.Im a member, not a guest. I didn't realize I wasn't signed in till after I posted.

I would just like to point out that many many times when I do generic Google searchs on various hashkafic or halachic issues, (the original) FrumTeens.com website is one of the first search results Google provides. This provides a very wide audience for the Moderator/Rabbi's hashkofic/halachic points on many issues discussed. Most such readers are never even posting to the site, but do find much value in finding and reading the FrumTeens website and the points the moderators make on it. So, in my humble opinion, I would value the good Google rankings that the old FrumTeens site has and try not to lose them in the transition. (I explained that in more detain in my "Guest" post earlier on this thread.)We are not so concerned with Google ratings.

Does that mean that there is stuff from some of the other moderators on the the old site which Rabbi Shapiro does not agree with? I gained a lot from the hashkafa discussions of the moderators on the old website, so if there's stuff there which is not 100%, I'd like to know what it is and why... Is there any specific thread on the old site which Rav Shapiro would not recommend to read?

Private messaging is disabled. That is to protect the users and to maintain the desired level of Tznius and privacy.I'm still a little new to the site - I understand the rationale behind not being able to view member profiles, but can we contact one another through private messaging? Is there a feature I overlooked that exists, or does it not exist at all...? Thanks!

As per Rabbi Shapiro's invitation, I've decided to stop in just to say hi!! I'd love to be a part of this website, but I used to sit and read EVERY SINGLE post on Frumteens and I'm unable to do that anymore. I'm Punims from the old site. I started reading Frumteens when I was 18 and now I'm 30. I was a major Frumteen follower for years - it was my life. I followed every person and every post. I started out as a lost teenager and ended off getting engaged and helping other people. BH now I have a husband and 3 beautiful children. I'm a stay-at-home mom and follow mommy websites instead (jewishmom.com) and like I said, I need to read everything to belong to a site, so I'm not even starting with this one.
But just hi and thank you Frumteens for helping me get to where I am. I NEVER would have done it without you.
Teenagers, life gets better:) I feel like I've been reborn!
~Punims
P.S. I miss being a part of Frumteens, that was a nice part of my life.
