2. Asks about your family

3. Asks you to read from the Ramban but you have time to prepare it before.

4. Questions everything you say- very discerning- if you say thank you then she will ask you why you said thank you.

B’nos Chava
  • Why Bais Yaakov? Are you think you are 100% Bais Yaakov? Why Bais Yaakov from your school?
  • Asks a lot about your family.
  • Read Psukim and Meforash and asks you about the Parsha- but she helps you with it.
  • Not too many questions.
If applying from a non Bais Yaakov school- you must sound positive (“it was good, learnt a lot but this isn’t what I want to continue on”- so they think your not a negative person) but not too positive because then why are you applying to Bais Yaakov?

I know that everyone gets very nervous before interviews but I just want to remind everyone that it really isn't all that bad - think about it - its 20 minutes to talk about YOU! That never happens!
Just be yourself - don't try to be someone else. Read these questions and try to think of answers that you would answer if you were asked them. Seminaries want real serious girls. Seminary principals aren't out to get you - they just want to see how you will react and what kind of person you are.

I think most people already had their interviews but incase u didnt or for next years girls, I'll tell you a lil about mine.

Tomer Devorah-Asked me to read 2 pasukim, and then to read a rashi on the first pasuk. After I read the Rashi, the Rav asked me a thought provoking question on the Rashi. He wanted to hear my initial answer, but also told me that it was something for me to think about… The Rav also asked me what my favorite class was, and why, and to give an example of a lesson i learned in this class and how to apply it to my life. He also asked me the usual why do u want to go this seminary? what to do u want to gain from sem? and where else did u apply...

Darchei Binah- First the Rav discussed my school with me. Asked me where else i was applying to... and asked why I want to go to Darchei Binah. He read my essay to himself quickly and looked at my letter of reccomendation and then we discussed my essay. He made jokes to try to lighten the interview mood… He also asked me to read a pasuk and read 2 Rashis on that pasuk.

GOOD LUCK WITH INTERVIEWS!!!
