i dont think there are 613 exact( you can count and let me know)
the point is we use it on Rosh Hashana to sybolize that we want many many merits like the number 613 mitzvos

i counted once, and stopped counting at over 700 seeds. lollll, everyone's preparing for yom tov, and i'm just sitting there carefully counting up the seeds of a pomegranate... ;)

my father told me that there are tons of varieties of pomegranate, and for sure one of them has exactly 613 seeds

I think it means an average, if it was meant as an exact number at all. does anyone know the exact source of the statemnt?
