Please don’t repeat questions

It is possible that your question has been addressed on the forum before. Use the forum's search feature first to see if there are already some posts on the subject. It's easy to search - just click the "Search" button at the top right of the page.

Please post in the correct forum

This is very important. Please make sure that when you post, you post in the most relevant forum available. It is unfair to readers to have topics go off on tangents, and for them to have to dig through or search for a topic that is buried somewhere it does not belong.

For example, if you see a thread about Parenting, for instance, where there is a discussion about at what age should parents get children to make Brachos, please do not post a question on that forum about what Bracha to make on Rice Krispies. Start another forum if necessary in the Orech Chaim section. But let’s try to keep forums on topic.

If your post is not posted

Jewsforquestions.com is not a place for everyone to air their views or share opinions. It is an “Ask The Rabbi” forum. The Rav of the site is its sole Torah authority. Think of Jewswithquestions.com as a classroom; not a chatroom. Participation in the form of helpful comments and follow-up questions to the Rav’s responses are appropriate and appreciated.
.
Please understand that our Rav, like everyone else, has a finite amount of time to spend on the site, and so it is impossible to answer every question posted. We have Moderators who will field questions when appropriate for them to do so. In general, priority is given to answering those questions that people are most unlikely to find answers for elsewhere, and are deemed likely to be relevant to the most readers. Hashkafa questions generally take precedence over Halacha questions, and questioners in need of Chizuk take precedence over everything else.

So please do not be upset if your post is not posted. It does not mean there was anything wrong with it. Think of Jewswithquestions.com as similar in this way to a Letters to the Editor column, or a call-in talk show. Due to time and resource constraints, as well as other considerations, not all questions can be addressed

What if you don't know which Halachos fall under which of the four categories in the Halacha section? (I even learned it in school, and I still don't have it completely straight; all the more so someone who never learned it wouldn't have a clue!)

You can post it where you think it's supposed to go and start it off with: I'm not sure if this goes here, if not, please move it to where it belongs.

Maybe there could be brief descriptions, or guidelines posted in the halacha section under each category - there are on other forums on the site... (in gray, beneath the title of the forum)

Thank you, by the way! Just came back on after awhile and noticed!
