The Wings of a Broken Bird

Raids of rocks weigh down my soul holding me to the ground. A bird with a broken wing.

The vast blue sky teases me from above, taunting my inability to fly.

I sit on the ground and watch my fellow birds fly south for the cold winter I will have to endure.

My broken wing lies useless at my side, and I look at it with contempt, how dare it staunch my ability to be a bird.

How dare my wing break?

I slid away from the predators that lurk the ground.

I look away from the deceiving eyes of the ever tricky fox.

I coo to myself and I hold myself close; but I am careful to hold my broken wing away from me.

It is not worthy.

How dare my wink break?

I watch in misery as my fellow birds dip and dive through the air.

They come and say hello, sending their condolences about my broken wing.

They cluck their tongues and shake their heads in pity.

How dare my wing break?

I am alone, without a friendly face when winter comes.

The cold bites through my feathers and numbs my feet, I close my eyes and hope for heat.

The winter is white cold and frozen.

It left me for dead.

How dare my wing break?

Hun, I so get how you feel. Sometimes I also feel all alone in the world, like a crippled person that no one seems to understand. In these times you got to search for real friends who wont "cluck their tonges" friends that will help you deal with a "broken wing". I am rooting for you!
