I started this site at the behest of an אדם גדול. The primary reason was because of the strong influence on our people of websites promoting Kefirah and anti-Torah Hashkafos. A presence was needed online to combat that influence and I was asked to return to online activity to try to be that presence. This was about 7 years ago.

Honestly, due to time constraints I wasn't very enthusiastic about taking on this project at that time, especially since the old site was working well with great effectiveness for years without my intervention (thank you to all the Moderators who made that happen). So for several years I resisted, before I finally agreed, about a year and a half ago, to put up this site.

Boruch Hashem the site has been successful during the year and a half that it has been up. But after the recent internet "אסיפה" I was wondering if the opinion of this אדם גדול would be the same as it was when I started the site. Last night was the first chance I've had since then to sit down with him and discuss it. His response was that I should indeed continue with the site.

So it looks like, at least for the time being, we are here to stay.

Of course, I would be happy if people who do not need the internet would get rid of it altogether, but for those who have it for whatever reason, make sure your filter doesn't block jewswithquestions.com!

Start with God - the first step in learning is bowing down to God; only fools thumb their noses at such wisdom and learning.

In the event you would be unable to continue this endeavor, would it be continued by other you would appoint, or would it be discontinued entirely?

Same here. There is no replacement or equivalent to this site anywhere online. If this goes, c'v, the loss is tremendous. It leaves the field wide open to the naysayers and internal enemies of the Torah.

Absolutely.

This website counters the influence of websites promoting Kefirah and anti-Torah ideals;

and it also teaches a lot about basic Judaism that many of us didn't know until now.

whooooo, The first few lines were phrased to make me think that this site is going. I'm soooooo glad that's not the case. Thank you so much. this site has helped me so many times. sometimes I have a question that I don't really have who to ask and many times it just helps soo much to see that other people are grappling with life too.

Discontinue. What would it accomplish to just switch people?

I didn't want to make it sound like we're going offline. Sorry for the scare.

I understand what this site accomplishes. If not, I wouldn't involve myself with it. But I also don't people to think that this site's existence implies a blanket heter to have the internet. That's the main reason I put up this note - to emphasize that.
