In Elul, my friend and I decided to start a chavrusa and learn every day as our sort of 'Elul initiative'. We decided to learn Tehillim, because it's something we all say every day, but how well do we really know it?

So anyway, we've been doing one a day since then, and we're coming to the end of Tehillim and we want to carry on learning, but we aren't sure what. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful. We're looking for something that we can do daily, with Hebrew and English, and preferably not Halocho based. Someone suggested the Chofetz Chaim's Ahavas Chesed, but it's only in Hebrew or English  :(

 Thanks  :D

Do you want inspiration, mussar, hashkofa, or commentaries or something else? both feldheim and artscroll have a selection with both languages, check their sites. Or just see what's available in your local shuls/yeshiva. I think feldheim has a hebrew/english Ahavas Chessed.

This may seem overly simplified, but I remember a teacher of mine once suggesting the following idea:  Every day, do one of the seven aliyos of that week's parsha.  That way, you are very on top of what's going on in that week's parsha, and it can be done on a variety of levels - just the pesukim, pesukim and Rashi, one or both with a book of Parsha divrei Torah that you've never read before, etc...  Like you said about Tehillim, Parsha is something that we've all grown up on, and "we know it already" - but how well do we really know it, and how often do the basic building blocks of knowledge get forgotten and left to the side...?  This way, you have it already split up for you (in terms of how much to do each day - because there are seven aliyos every Shabbos), and there's definitely PLENTY in Hebrew and English, and you'll know Torah she'bksav and the weekly Parsha that much better!

Yeah, we're looking more for mussar-y type learning.

Until we find something we're going to be learning Megillas Esther simply because Purim is so close and it's easily accessible.

Thanks so much

Then definitely look through Feldheim's Torah Classics Library, they have a large selection of hebrew-english mussar seforim. see which one fits your needs best.
