Skipping down the road of life, an everyday event
Not a care in the whole world, I’m happy and content
Yet sometimes life’s confusing, the road bumps high and low
I feel I need direction, I don’t know where to go

Chorus: So, lift your chin up on a cloudy day
Look up to heaven and remember to say
Everything I see is a gift that you have given me
So when times are hard, they’re just a test
It’s all from You, and for the best
That’s why for all you do, Hashem I say thank you

You were there for me, and You’re here for me
And I know You’ll always be
A source of strength, a fire in the night
A constant guiding light
So when I feel alone, I know your sitting on your throne
Watching me and guiding me and helping me forever, and ever

Chorus: So, lift your chin up on a cloudy day
Look up to heaven and remember to say
Everything I see is a gift that you have given me
So when times are hard, they’re just a test
It’s all from You, and for the best
That’s why for all you do, Hashem I say thank you

So, I thank You for the hardest times, they help me to grow
And I thank You for the challenges, they help me to know
Hashem who was, Hashem who is, Hashem who will always be
There for me, for all eternity

So, I’ll never be alone, and I know that it is true
No matter what life brings
I can depend on You

Chorus: So, lift your chin up on a cloudy day
Look up to heaven and remember to say
Everything I see is a gift that you have given me
So when times are hard, they’re just a test
It’s all from You, and for the best
That’s why for all you do, Hashem I say thank you

Cry
When you cry, don't cry for yourself.
Cry for me; for your fellow brother; for another Jew.
Why do you remain alone in your own world of pain?

When we cry,
Let's shatter the gates of heaven.
Cry!
Break down all the barriers that separate,
Hashem from his nation
Reawaken Yisroel.

When I cry, I cry for Yerushalayim.
Cry!
For so many lost;
For children who don't know,
The treasures they hold,
Their hearts are cold
They can not cry.

Al aile ani bokhiya, oy eini
Eini yirda mayim
Ki rokhak, rokhak
Mi meini meinakhim
Oy meisim nafshi.
That's why I cry!

YOU GO 2 STERNBERG?!?!?! ME 2!!!!

I climbed a thousand heights

We may have been apart in our own separate ways
Nothing in common and no words ever exchanged
Or we may have gone through life as the best of all friends
Cried and laughed together, thought it’d never end

I may not even know your name
But no we are the same
Part of one family and together we’ll remain

Chorus
And I climbed a thousand heights ‘cuz you brought me their
And I touched a thousand souls ‘cuz you taught me how to care
But with all these thousand words
I just don’t know how to say goodbye
Please tell me why we have to say goodbye
(Last time: Now is the time to say good bye)

Sternberg you’ve held our lives in your hands
We came in confused and you helped us understand
But now is the end of that life sof daver
The memories seem close but the future so far

And I don’t want to go away
Just waiting for that day
When time whispers move on but my heart yearns to stay

Chorus

this one im not sure if its specifically from sternberg but i learned it there! :)

Friends

From somewhere deep inside my heart
A melody soars- it has no start
It echoes in a haunting way
My memories of yesterday

It is the comfort of a soothing word
The whisper of secrets barely heard
It’s a melody that has no end
It’s the music that is friends

Chorus
And friend will come and then will leave
As we through mazes of life weave
But somewhere deep inside us all
Will always be that cheerful call
And someday soon we’ll reunite
And sing this song of strength and might
And on that day as we meet again
We’ll find that we’re still friends

It is the sound of a child’s song
The sound of school bells ringing long
It echoes in a haunting way
My memories of yesterday

Bubbling laughter ringing clear
A song of happiness, a song so dear
It’s a melody that has no end
It’s the music that is friends

Chorus

The friendship that forever binds
Transcends the aging, ignores the time
Our paths are trodden, our youth is gone
But the music still plays on

Chorus

Memories

You and I have traveled through time
side by side
good times rooted deep intwined
our memories
roots grown deep our harvest of friends
we will keep
the garden we've grown will speak
of memories

Chorus

the memories live on...
memories we've grown
will always be with me
the chorus we've sung
will never escape me
the pictures weve drawn are so vividly
etched in my heart
the memories live on

You and I have painted a world
side by side
the picture is carved
in my mind
with colors so bright they blind
as we part the picture will blur
in my heart
time must go on we all know
but i cant let go

Chorus

I'll write more songs when I have more time :)

Sternberger here to...although I havent been back in awhile.

Yisrael Yisrael

Where have you been all these years?

I've been awaiting your return,

come on home let me dry off your tears.

I recall as a young boy

How you were faithful and true,

But since then you've wandered to strangers,

Who try to make traitor of you.

Don't you be fooled by their lies,

Their only aim is to lure you away from Me.

Don't you believe that it's true?

I'm the only one for you.

How long, till when

Will you endure the scorn?

Though you've been beaten by wind and rain,

You still are a rose among thorns.

Battered ground, tattered gowns,

Your garments are soiled in mud.

Still you continue to wander,

Though the earth has been soaked with your blood.

What are you hoping to find?

Haven't I given you all you could wish for?

Come back and we'll start anew

I'll be waiting there for you.

Oh to behold your countenance

Let the sound of our voice fill my place.

Only then my dear one

Will you experience true happiness

Tell me it's only a dream

Tell me your heart and your soul are still there with me.

Wake up and we'll all be together

Yisrael V'kdusha Brich Hu.

Hey! Heres a few more:

Sunset
Do you close your eyes and stop for a minute
Just to imagine a scene
Come take a walk and see yourself standing
In a beautiful garden serene
See the vibrant rose as it comes to life
Smell the orchids white like snow
A breathtaking picture perfection beyond your dreams
Come take a look catch every detail
Explore every petal with care
A dazzling array of countless bright colors
Each shade so special and dear
And as the softest rain flutters to the ground
To awaken a sleeping world
Now the secrets of its beauty soon unfurl
There’s this feeling that takes hold of me as I’m drawn into this picture
Into this scene and suddenly I seem to find
A place in your design
For every sunset brings another sunrise
And every winter fades away into the spring
‘Cause there’s a whole new world each day
There’s a whole new world in me
So as I open up my eyes I’ll sing to You
In wonder of the world renewed each morning
For each breath of life I’ll sing to You
There’s something new to see in every dawning
I’ll praise in my own way for Your light shines on every day
And I’m learning how to see all Your miracles unfold
And with the rising sun my soul has wings
I’m grateful for this chance You’ve given me
To lift up my own voice in harmony
And join as one with all of Your creations
Singing for eternity reflecting all Your glory
And I’m learning how to see all Your miracles unfold
Yes, I’m learning how to see all Your miracles unfold

Shema Yisrael

Abie Rotenberg

He raised his hand to wave goodbye
Saw the pain in his mother’s eyes
Who left her little precious boy of four
In a citadel of ashen stone
That preached a faith unlike his own
Perhaps he may just yet survive this war
In the shadows stood a man in black
My child he said, you must not look back
Yet one image lingered, the tears on her face
And his mother’s words for their last embrace
Chorus:
Shema, Shema Yisroel
Know that there is but one G-d above
When you feel pain
When you rejoice
Know how He longs to hear your voice
Hashem Elokainu Hashem Echad

Deep within the iron gate
Far from the stench of war and hate
He knew not of a world gone insane
You must believe us he was told
Our faith alone can save your souls
Please let us heal your wounds and ease your pain
He tried not to forget his past his home
But he was so very young and all alone
While visions of his shtetl so vivid and clear
Began to fade, all but disappeared
Chorus

The winds of war had finally passed
One man took on a sacred task
To bring the scattered jewish children home
He traveled far from place to place
A guest to reignite the faith
Of those sent into hiding long ago
He entered the fortress gray and cold
Your kind is not among us he was told
Hashem above he whispered please don’t let me fail
As he began to sing Shema Yisroel
Chorus (2x)

Forever one

Look inside the heart of a Jew
Open up it’s many doors
And the soul that you’ll see there inside
Is a reflection of yours

For each soul is a part of a whole
That joins us to each other
We are all part of one family
And we will forever be one

Forever one we will go far
It’s not I am but who we are
We need just to reveal it
We need to try and feel it

And never are we alone
We have each other as our whole
And nothing can divide us
For we are
Forever one

I believe

I believe we were all created with a gift deep down inside
To change the world or leave it for others
The choice is there for all who believe it’s true
I believe in my search for answers I’ve finally found the key
I believe that Hashem believes in me

They learned in a dark frigid cellar
alone just a small group of men
when in rushed the soldiers
and led them all away
the flame of torah flickered on that day

so many tears, so much sorrow
the pain has lasted thousands of years
but soon we'll stop crying
the cruelty will end
and melech hamashiach will descend

someday we will all be together
someday we'll be sheltered and warm
never will we have to express any fear
our scars and our wounds will disapear

avraham and yitzchak will be there to greet us
yaakov and his sons will stand by and smile
moshe rabbeinu will lead us once again
in yirushalayim be'ezras Hashem

Ribono Shel Olam
The air is sweet and cool
Father’s off to shul
There she stands
The matchbox in her hand
And as she strikes a flame
The others do the same
Every woman all over the land

She stands by those candles
Each Friday night
Asking one more time
He own little prayer
That all should go right
Thoughts so pure and fine

And close by the children are watching her lips
Trying her secret to win
She covers her eyes
She whispers, she cries
Oh, let the Shechina come in!

Ribono shel Olam
Listen to your daughter
Ribono shel Olam
Listen to her call

My words are but a few
Yet I pour out my heart to you
Please accept my prayers and my tears
And as these candles burn
Let the world return
Melt away my troubles and my fears

I stand here before you
Each Friday night
Asking one more time
I hope I’ve been faithful and true to Your word
Now listen, please, to mine

Give my family the strength to go on
Warm up our hearts from within
Bring back those goals
The happiness we shared
Oh, let the Shechina come in!

Ribono shel Olam
Listen to your daughter
Ribono shel Olam
Listen to her call
