Seminary is a great opportunity for a girl to build herself and her hashkafos in an environment that is solely dedicated to learning, growing and ruchnius. It's possible that your parents, teachers, friends and other people think that attending would be a really fantastic chance for you to explore your Yiddishkeit further. As there are many, many seminaries out there, geared for different types of girls, there's a good chance that you can (with proper guidance--from someone who knows you and wants to help you grow) find a sem that will be a good match. Frumteens is a great place to start, though, in terms of gathering basic information.

Anything you want to know, feel free to ask. That's what we're here for. Hatzlacha!

I have never been to seminary, don't know, actually to be honest, since you don't know me, I never tell anyone, I did go, I wanted to go, worked hard to get in, got kicked out.

Sem is awesome. It's not for everyone though and there is nothing wrong if you don't go.
It doesn't huer to explore the options though... Why not make everyone happy and just check out various seminaries. Then they will see that even tough you don't think it's for you, you are still checking it out. But seriously, there are tons of other options besides for seminary.
Smilinggirl- I'm sorry to here that you got kicked out after you worked so hard to get in and everything:( :(:( It must be bad :(

i never felt the pressure in my school right now im in seminary so i can tell you why i think its a benifit to go
its hard in the begining for some harder than others its a year to get to know you for real i personaly feel if you go with a lot o people you know you lose a lot
but i had a hard begining and ive been through hell but to have stupid challenges and not expecting evryone to assume for me its nothing was the greatest experiance and the only reson i went was becouse i dont love where i live if i lived with my family i prpbably wouldnt have ended going i keep on finding new stuff i like abot seminary but i know a lot of people who never went and are so happy so do what will make you truly happy

if you are really so against it DONT GO. never do anything in your life because you were pressured to do so. you are a big girl and you can make decisions on your own.(of course you can ask for help but your in charge.)
now that its clear that YOU and ONLY YOU is the one who is gonna decide, make sure your decision is the correct one FOR YOU. seminary can be great for some people and horrible for others(especially if they dont go to the right place). so look into the options. there is a very large spectrum of diffrent types of places. weigh the pros and cons and may you come to the best decision FOR YOU!
good luck!!
